POONCH, Apr 10: Highlighting the imperative of providing quality health care services to people through established health institutions, Member Legislative Assembly, Javed Ahmed Rana, today asked the Health authorities to ensure strict compliance to minimal standards for health care and prescribed protocols for treatment.
Rana was chairing the Governing Body meet of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mendhar here today. The meeting was attended by SDM, Rahul Yadav, BMO, Dr Zulfkar Choudhary, members of RKS beside ASHA workers.
The MLA handed over three Ambulances including a Critical Care Ambulance to the Health authorities. Two Ambulances, one each for Chatral and Bharuti, have been provided by the MLA out of his Constituency Development Fund. The MLA assured the hospital administration that he will leave no stone unturned to fully equip the Health institutions with all modern facilities and upgraded infrastructure.
The MLA also stressed for organisation of outreach services and health camps in remote areas of Mendhar besides asked the hospital administration for provision of medicines, drinking water and cleanliness to the patients and their attendants. Other issues like power and water supply, cleanliness, drainage and sanitation etc in the Health institutions were also discussed in the meeting.
During the meeting, the MLA reviewed the status of abandoned construction works of Health institutions at Dhargloon, Salwa, Ghani and Chungaan and instructed the concerned executing agencies to terminate the contracts of the defaulters and float tenders afresh. He asked them to give priority to the quality while executing improvement/renovation works and asked the Hospital management to fix priorities of repair, renovation and other construction works.
Meanwhile, taking serious note of absenteeism in Health institutions, MLA asked the SDM to take action against Health officials for unauthorized absence from duty. The MLA impressed upon the authorities to put in sincere and dedicated efforts to provide better medicare facilities to the ailing.
