JAMMU, Apr 23: Aimed towards strengthening rural infrastructure and accelerating grassroots development, MLA Jammu West Assembly Constituency, Arvind Gupta, today visited Ranjeetpur Panchayat and proposed a series of development works under the “Viksit Village” initiative.
The proposed projects, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 2 crore, include the construction of a community hall, chopal, development and upgradation of schools, drainage systems, street works and several other essential infrastructure improvements aimed at the overall development of the panchayat.
During his visit, Arvind Gupta personally inspected the sites of the proposed works and held detailed discussions with local residents and officials.
He emphasized the need to prioritize projects based on the genuine requirements and aspirations of the people, ensuring that development reaches every household.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta stated that the development of villages remains a top priority and the “Viksit Village” initiative is aimed at ensuring that no area is left behind in terms of basic infrastructure and civic amenities.
He said, “Ranjeetpur Panchayat has immense potential, and our focus is to provide modern infrastructure while addressing long-pending issues of the residents. The proposed works, including community spaces, improved drainage, and better roads, will bring visible change on the ground.”
“People’s participation is a must for every development work. When citizens actively engage, monitor, and support these projects, the results are more effective, transparent and sustainable. Development cannot be successful without the cooperation of the public,” he added.
The MLA further assured that all works will be executed with quality, transparency and within a fixed timeframe, keeping the needs and aspirations of the people at the center of planning and implementation.
Former deputy Mayor Dharamveer Jamwal and Mandal, president Anil Angral, former Sarpanch Avinash Singh, former Sarpanch Preetpal Singh, Harvinder Singh (Vicky), Arun Dubey, Rajesh Saini, Geeta Sodhi, Vicky Angurana, Anil Singh Rakwal and other local residents were also present during the event.
