KALAKOTE, Oct 21: Member Legislative Assembly and senior NC leader Rachhpal Singh today laid foundation stone of Government Degree College here on Monday.
While speaking on the occasion the MLA said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has given impetus to higher education by expanding reach of the colleges to remote areas. With this the underprivileged youth will be benefitted immensely. Mr Singh said that education is pivot of socio-economic transformation and by making it within the reach of youth living in far off areas the urban-rural gap will be plugged in a big way. The MLA said that Chief Minister has earmarked Rs 12 crore for this college building.
