JAMMU, Oct 9: An All India Exhibition of Paintings was inaugurated by Bharat Bhushan, MLA, Raipur Domana at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, here today. The exhibition has been organized by J&K Centre for Creative Arts and J&K Poshe Cultural Society, Jammu in association with Kala Kendra and J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu.
Saujanaya Sharma, Director, J K Tourism presided over the function and N D Jamwal, a veteran artist and writer was the guest of honour on this occasion.
O P Sharma, general secretary, presented the report of the activities conducted by and the future plans of the Society. He said that the works created in an All India Painters Camp organized by J&K Poshe Cultural society, Jammu in association with Govt. College for Women, Parade, Jammu at college’s premises are being displayed for sale so that the money may be collected for Relief Fund.
Speaking on this occasion, Bharat Bhushan appreciated the steps taken by the organizers of the All India Painters camp and the Exhibition which is meant for a noble cause. He said that this kind of measures need to be taken by all the sections of the society so that the needy get some kind of care and help.
Senior and well known artists like Bhushan Kesar and Jang S. Verman, Jammu, Prabhinder Lall and Anand Sharma, Chandigarh, K S Gill, Dharmender Sharma and Mala Chawla, Amritsar, Pratima Singh, Lucknow, Ashok Mehra and Reecha Gupta, Jammu etc participated.
The young generation and upcoming artists included- Vaishali Soni, Pathankot, Sahil Ohri, Amrit Kaur, Anuradha, Vandana and Shiveta Pandit, Jammu, Deepa Soni, Udhampur and Gomti Sharma, Amritsar also participated.
Prominent persons present on this occasion included Ram Lal Mangotra, Raj Kumari Magazine, President, JKPCS, Surinder Aggarwal, President, Usha Magazine, Sunaina Kaul, Anil Saraf, Dr. Raj Kumar, Ashpk Gupta, Amrit Kaur, Bhushan Kesar etc.
