MLA inaugurates horticulture training camp

RAMNAGAR, Dec 11: MLA Ramnagar, RS Pathania inaugurated a horticulturists’ training camp at Gandh Top in Basantgarh area today.
While speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the area of Dudu-Basantgarh has huge potential for promotion of Horticulture sector and till date, least efforts have been taken in the desired direction.
He called upon the fruit-growers of the area to develop their fruit-orchards on modern lines after proper sensitization and training from the Horticulture Department, so that it becomes a money-fetching vocation for them, and particularly, female-folk of the area.
Pathania said that he is committed to propel Ramnagar on trajectory of qualitative growth and vision-based development. And within his very short stint as elected legislator of the area, Ramnagar has a proud distinction of having road-projects worth Rs 400 crore, tendered and about to be started very shortly. And projects worth another hundred crore are about to sanctioned and stated in the near future.
Ramnagar has first time topped in DDB allocations and distribution of projects, got enlisted under NRLM, Poultry development Village, Tribal Modal Village, electrification projects costing Rs 50 crore, start of work on Battal-Manwal-Hiranagar line, commissioning of WSS Chani-Mansar and submission of projects for completion of as many as dozen-odd water supply schemes. First time in history, it has got a road under CRF head, a modal degree College, blacktopping of Samba to Battal road
Referring to the setting up of KVK, ITI, Satellite Campus in Ramnagar, he said that KVK of Ramnagar was in cold storage with ICAR virtually disapproved setting up KVK at Ramnagar in April, 2014, but it had been with his persistent efforts in the Assembly as well as DDB meetings that a DDB decision regarding setting up of KVK at Ramnagar has been arrived at. He said land was acquired for ITI at Ramnagar in 2004 and a sign-board slung over there in 2004, but again it was in DDB meeting of 2015 that a decision regarding setting up of ITI at Ramnagar came to be effected. And regarding stoppage of work of Satellite Campuses in Ramnagar, he said that it is statewide issue and work on Satellite campuses across the State stands stopped with UGC withdrawing funds.
