BHADERWAH, May 15: Much to the relief of the villagers living in far-off areas of mountainous Bhaderwah valley, MLA Bhaderwah, Daleep Singh Parihar today  inaugurated four new type Primary Health Centers(PHCs) and a Medical Sub Center in Bhaderwah villages on Monday beside inaugurating a foot bridge in the town.
The state-of-art buildings of all the five health centers were constructed at a cost of Rs  58 lakhs each and were funded under centrally sponsored National Health Mission(NHM) scheme and later handed over to State Health Department for operations.
These sub centers which has also residential quarters for the staff became functional today at village Seri, Dranga, Drudu, Chakka and Nalthi will cater to atleast 39 hamlets with over 32,000 residents and is supposed to provide medical care round the clock.
After inaugurating the health centres, Daleep Singh Parihar addressed the residents gathering. He said Medicos will be available to attend to the patients at the health centre where free medicines would also be available to patients.
The MLA said that Coalition Government in general and his party in particular is committed to improving medicare facilities and medical care in the inaccessible and far off areas of the State so that the underprivileged do not suffer. There are villages in Chenab valley where doctors do not go to attend patients, but that will not happen in the present regime, he added.
“The people of Bhaderwah have reposed their faith in me and it is my responsibility to ensure that their basic facilities and amenities are not compromised,” he added.
Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah, Dr Yudhvir Singh said “The health centres is a step towards taking medical facilities closer to people.
The MLA was accompanied by Chief Medical Officer Doda, Wajid Ali Najar, BMO Bhaderwah, Dr Yudhvir Singh Kotwal, Assistant Executive Engineer Chamba Sub Division, Atta Mohd Sheikh and JE Abdul Latief.
Later in the afternoon, MLA inaugurated steel plated Thara foot bridge constructed at a cost of 34.17 lakhs by PWD Bhaderwah.
