UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat, today kick-started construction of road from Nallah Ghouran to Marda Mata in Chenani Constituency.
The construction of 13 Kilometers road project has been taken-up at a cost of Rs 11.49 lakhs under PMGSY Scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that with the start construction work on the road, a long pending demand of people of area has been fulfilled. He said it will be all-weather road and with its completion about 12.000 souls of over half- dozen villages of the area will be benefitted.
Highlighting the importance of road connectivity, the MLA said that road network plays vital role in transforming socio-economic profile of people. He said that better road connectivity provides easy access to block and district headquarters to people, besides goes a long way in promoting business activities in area.
Bhagat said that the present Government is committed to strengthen the road connectivity and has formulated a comprehensive plan to create sound road network in State. He said that construction of various road projects have been taken up under various State and Centrally Sponsored schemes. He said that Union Government has been providing liberal funding for the overall development of the State with focus attention on improved road network.
Maintaining that the present dispensation has an agenda for harmonious development of all the sections of society, Bhagat asked people to come forward and avail benefits of schemes launched for their welfare. He also asked the engineers of executing agency to complete the work within stipulated time frame focusing on quality of work and as per specification laid down for the project.
Mandal president, Bharat Bushan and Contractor, Parshtoam Singh besides officers of concerned department and prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.
