MUMBAI, Aug 24: A mixed trend was seen in ferrous and non-ferrous metals today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchage (BME) said.
In ferrous metals category, copper heavy increased by Rs 300 per quintal from stockists.
Copper utensils fell by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 46,400 owing to weak demand from stockists.
Brass utensils and brass cutting eased by Rs 300 per quintal, each.
Aluminium utensils was steady on moderate demand, traders said.
In non-ferrous metals category, copper wire bars soared by Rs 100 per quintal.
Lead ingots slipped Rs 100 per quintal. Even, aluminium ingots and zinc slabs too declined by Rs 200 per quintal each on better demand from stockists.
However, Tin slab improved by Rs 20 per kg while nickel cathode fell by Rs 5 per kg, on sluggish demand from local dealers, they added.
Ferrous Metals (per quintal):
Copper Heavy Rs 51,200, Copper utensils Rs 46,400, Brass utensils Rs 34,100, Brass cuttings Rs 35,200, Aluminium utensils Rs 12,500.
Non-ferrous Metals:
Copper wire bars Rs 54,800, Aluminium ingots Rs 15,500, Zinc slabs Rs 16,300, Lead ingots Rs 13,100, Tin slabs Rs 1,480, Nickel cathode Rs 1030.
