Mission Youth organizes Career Guidance, Interaction session under PARVAAZ scheme

JAMMU, Jan 24: In a first of its kind initiative, Mission Youth organized a one day Career Guidance and Interaction cum Feedback session with candidates undergoing coaching under PARVAAZ scheme in Jammu.
The event was conducted for the candidates being mentored and coached for both IAS and JKAS besides NEET and JEE examinations.
Secretary, Tribal Affairs and Chief Executive Officer, Mission Youth, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Director, Tribal Affairs Department, Dr. Abdul Khabir and senior officers from Mission Youth were present.
The event was organized with an aim to provide exposure to the candidates selected under PARVAAZ scheme through the medium of direct interaction and Q&A session with the officers from both IAS and JKAS.
Around 500 candidates, who are undergoing coaching at various institutes empanelled with Mission Youth, participated in the event along with representatives from coaching institutes.
Tabish Saleem spoke about the idea behind the initiative while Dr. Abdul Khabir educated the candidates on important topics of Stress Management and Mental Health.
The marquee event of the day was the interaction cum feedback session of the candidates with Dr. Shahid Iqbal.
He had an exclusive interactive session with the candidates entirely based on the expectation and questions of the candidates. He spoke about the way India and J&K were moving forward and co-related the same with the evolved role, responsibilities and expectations from Public servants. He discussed in detail the benchmark expectations from candidates by UPSC/JKPSC in examinations like IAS/JKAS. He told how important it was for the candidates to understand the requirement of a multifarious job like that of the public servant before entering the service itself.
Dr. Shahid Iqbal emphasized on the students to have an open mind to learning, mindful of their strengths and weakness and not to fall into the trap of herd mentality. He exhorted upon candidates to not get disheartened if they are not able to clear the exam but take the learning to become better individuals and citizens.
