JAMMU, Nov 19: Apollo Group of Hospitals, pioneers in private corporate healthcare in India, launched hi-tech Telemedicine Unit here at Aquaf Market, Gandhi Nagar, today.
The formal inauguration was made by Anushphala Kamineni, the granddaughter of Dr Prathap C Reddy, the Founder of Apollo Group in presence of prominent citizens, members of medical fraternity and representatives of Apollo Group.
The Apollo Group on the occasion also announced the simultaneous launching of Apollo’s first ever pharmacy outlet in Jammu & Kashmir in the same premises.
Arunoday Singh, the young entrepreneur partner of Apollo Group from the State who is having a degree in engineering and MBA also with experience of working in international banking sector including Deutsche Bank and Yes Bank was too present on inaugural ceremony.
Others present on the occasion, were Dr Sathya Bhama, Director Medical Services, Chennai, Vikram Thaploo, CEO, Apollo Tele Health, Atul Ahuja, Vice President, Apollo Pharmacy and Raj Raina General Manager, Marketing & Strategic Business.
Talking to media after the launch, Anushphala said, “with the vision to touch a billion lives, over the past three decades Apollo Hospital’s transformative journey has continuously set the agenda and led the example in the blossoming private health care space,. Our mission is to bring the healthcare of international standards within the reach of every individual and since our inception in 1983, we have been honoured with the trust of almost 50 million people who came to us from across 121 countries”, she added.
In response to a question she said we hope to bring Apollo Hospital in Jammu also.
Arunoday Singh, the entrepreneur -partner of Apollo Group of Hospitals in J&K, said it is matter of pleasure and pride that Aquaf Commercial Complex at Gandhi Nagar has been selected by India’s most prestigious healthcare group for its maiden entry into the State of J&K. For this, he acknowledged the distinct role played by the Managing Director of Apollo Group of Hospitals.
He said the objective of launching this outlet is to introduce and expose the people of Jammu to the provision and prerogative of obtaining medical consultation for any kind of health care related complaint from the best possible Super -Specialist / consultant doctor anywhere in the world. While Apollo Telemedicine will make this miracle happen, the first ever Apollo Pharmacy outlet in J&K to be started here in the same premises will ensure availability of standard fair-price medicines from the same single window, he added.
Singh said that the inspiration and the motivation behind this venture is not to earn any commercial dividends, but to be able to prove to the society that we are committed to place at their disposal, the best of the world healthcare facilities without yearning for financial profits.
He also announced that such facilities will be extended to rural Jammu also and next outlet will be established in Kathua.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sathya Bhama claimed that the Apollo Hospitals  Group was the first to obtain international quality accreditation like JCI and also developed centers of excellence in Cardiac Sciences, Orthopaedics, neurosciences, Emergency care, Cancer and Organ Transplantation. The Apollo’s initiative like ACE @ 25 TASSC are indicators of the commitment to better global benchmark in clinical excellence.
Expressing his satisfaction over brining Apollo Clinical expertise to his home State in collaboration with Arunoday Singh, Vikram Thaploo said currently, India stands at cross road of high-end multi specialty private healthcare services on one end and lack of doctors, support staff, medicines and facilities at the other.
