RAJOURI, Jan 6: The relatives and locals of the area held strong protest near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge at Rajouri, after the dead body of a missing youth, lying in the bushes near Bus Stand area was recovered by police after three days here today.
Official sources said that young Mohd Zahoor, son of Mohd Shakoor, resident of Ward No. 2 Rajouri, in Bela Colony area, was reportedly missing for the last three days. The family was searching for the youth and they also lodged compliant with the local police at Rajouri.
Today, at around 3 pm, on the basis of an information provided by a youth who was last seen with this boy, the police recovered the dead body of missing boy, lying near new Bus Stand, Rajouri at around 3 pm today. The family members of the missing boy also reached there.
The body was shifted to District Hospital, Rajouri for postmortem and later handed over to the family. Meanwhile, the family members and relatives besides locals of the area, assembled near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge in the town and held strong protest. They were alleging that youth has been murdered and police took three days for searching the body while it was lying within the town. They raised slogans against local police and SHO and demanded action in this regard. Later, with the intervention of senior officials and Councillor of Ward No. 3, Iftikhar Dar, the protest dharna was lifted.
Meanwhile, the police claimed that the boy who was last seen with Mohd Zahoor has been detained and placed under sustained questioning. The police said it appears different case as some inputs have been provided by detained youth.
