UDHAMPUR, Aug 6: A young woman, who was missing from the house of her in-laws since yesterday, was today found dead in Ujh River near Chor Motu Soun village.
According to the police report, the dead body of the woman, identified as Sharefa Begam (20), wife of Sadeeq Ahmad, resident of Ward number 7 Kulthian Kareli, was spotted by some locals, this morning around 9 am.
On getting information, a Police team, led by SDPO Ramnager GR Bhardwaj and SHO Ramnager Jasvinder Singh and SHO Majalta Vishal Sharma immediately rushed to the spot, which is about 40 km away from Ramnagar and Majalta. They retrieved the body from the river and shifted it to PHC Majalta. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the legal heirs for last rites.
According to the police, a missing report of the lady was registered yesterday by her in-laws at Police Station Ramnagar. A case under relevant sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation was started.
