KATHUA, Dec 10: A missing minor girl was found hanging from a tree near her house in village Surjan of tehsil Bani.
As per police sources, a missing minor girl identified as Monika Devi (17), daughter of Gian Chand, a resident of village Surjan, tehsil Bani was found hanging from a tree near her residence today.
The girl went missing few days back and a missing complaint in this regard was lodged by the family members of the girl at police station Bani.
Some passerby noticed the body of the girl hanging from a tree and informed the police.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to SDH Bani, where after conducting postmortem, it was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at police station Bani and investigation started.
