JAMMU, Dec 10: Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to submit report in Chatta-Sunjwan land scam within two weeks.
The direction was passed in a petition titled Prof S K Bhalla Versus State of J&K and Others.
After hearing Advocate SS Ahmed with Advocate Suraj Singh appearing for the PIL whereas AAG Seema Shekhar appearing for the State and Senior Advocate LK Sharma for the private respondent, DB observed, “in pursuance of earlier orders, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was obliged to file status report, however, the same has not been filed”.
“Filing of status report by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu assumes significance because earlier Divisional Commissioner Sudhanshu Pandey had appointed a committee of nine officers who had submitted report on 21.06.2008”, the DB said and directed that report be now filed within two weeks.
The DB directed the Registry to list PIL for further consideration on December 24, 2014.
