JAMMU, June 12: The dead body of a man was recovered today from Ranbir canal near Muthi Camp.
According to a police official, the body of a man identified as Ravi Kumar (40) son of Wakeel Chand, resident of Amit Nagar (Muthi), was spotted by some locals in Ranbir Canal in Muthi Camp area.
He said on getting information from the locals, a team from police station reached the spot, fished out the body from the canal and shifted it to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
“After postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceeding in this connection was initiated by police station Domana,” the official said, adding the deceased was missing since June 9 and a missing complaint dated June 10 stand registered in this connection at police station Domana.
