Srinagar, Feb 9: A 12-year-old boy who was missing since last week was today found dead in an orchard at Daharmuna village in Soibugh area of Budgam district.
As per the officials the body of the boy-who was missing for the last 6 days was spotted by locals in nearby orchards early morning who later informed the police.
After that, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The boy has been identified as Shahid Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Malik, a resident of Soibugh, Budgam.
Officials said that the family had lodged a missing report. However, today morning “the body of the boy was found by the locals near his house in Soibugh, Budgam; an FIR has been registered and investigations have been started on a fast-track basis.”
The family members of the deceased have demanded a speedy investigation into the boy’s death. The boy as per the family was found hanging.
Officials said that they will be able to confirm the cause of death only after the post-mortem report comes.
