Miscreant held for attacking tea stall owner with sword

JAMMU, Apr 7: Police today claimed to have arrested an individual, who allegedly attacked a tea stall owner at Jewel Chowk area with a sword.
A police official said on April 3, one Mohinder Singh son of Khajan Chand of Krishna Nagar Jammu, lodged a written complaint with Police Station Nowabad, stating therein that one Raghubir Sharma of Resham Ghar Colony tried to attack him inside his shop at Jewel Chowk area with a sword.
Quoting the complainant, the police official said that the victim told the police that fortunately, he managed to escape from the spot but a customer at his shop, Sunny Kumar, sustained injuries in the attack.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 44/2025 under sections 333/115(2)/352/351(2) BNS and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
Thereafter, the police official said that a team headed by SHO Nowabad, Inspector Deepak Pathania, apprehended the accused within 24 hours with the help of technical and human intelligence on April 4.
Upon the disclosure of the accused, the weapon of offence-sword-has also been recovered, he said.
