Mir Zahoor visits Zakura, takes stock of Animal, Sheep Husbandry Units

SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad today visited Institute of Animal Health and Biological Products, Zakura and took stock of the functioning of the institute.

In order to take the first hand appraisal of the different works done, the Minister went round different laboratories and Vaccine Research Centres and inspected the functioning of different machines there.

During his visit, Mir Zahoor asked the concerned officials to create awareness about the different diseases in animals and the vaccines available.

The Minister visited the Block Development Sheep Husbandry Office, Zakura and interacted with the staff members.

On the occasion, he was apprised about various problems being faced by them. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured them that every possible help will be provided to them by the Government.

The Minister asked the concerned officials to resolve the genuine demands of the Sheep and Poultry Unit Holders at the earliest. He also instructed them to conduct field visits and aware farmers about the latest techniques.

Among others, Director Animal Husbandry, Kashmir, Joint Directors of Animal and Sheep Husbandry, DFO Ganderbal, Fisheries Development Officer Ganderbal accompanied the Minister during the tour.
