Mir re-elected as AJKPC chairman

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Shafiq Mir has been reelected as All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference chairman with a voice vote by the general body members of AJKPC in a crucial meeting of Panchayat members held at summer capital Srinagar on today.
Mr Mir had earlier resigned from the post of chairmanship soon after he had joined Congress on October 15, however, his resignation was not accepted by the organization and the decision in this regard was referred executive body of AJKPC  members. Today a general body meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference was convened by the organization at Srinagar in which all the participants reposed their faith in the leadership on Shafiq Mir and asked him to continue as chairman of the organization saying that his decision of joining Congress was acceptable to them and he can contribute more after being member of the Congress Party.
On this occasion, the Panchayat members also appreciated the role of AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi and JKPCC chief Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz.
