POONCH, Sept 8: Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council, Jahangir Hussain Mir today visited Government Boys Middle School Poonch and interacted with the students and staff.
He was accompanied by Chief Education Officer, Ch. Lal Hussain and DEPO, Narinder Suri.
On the demand of students, the Deputy Chairman on-spot announced Rs. 1.5 lakh for desks, installation of electric water cooler and 1000 liters PVC tank out of his Constituency Development Fund.
After seeing the condition of school building, he asked the Chief Education Officer for immediate minor repairs and white wash and instructed the DEPO and concerned ZEO for regular checking of the school buildings so as to improve their conditions.
He also inspected class rooms and lesson plans with the teachers and the homework assigned to the students besides checking plan diary of the teachers. He impressed upon the teachers to check and make necessary corrections in the students’ notebooks on regular basis and put their signatures after checking.
