RAMBAN, July 7: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted by a 23-year-old man, has given birth to a baby boy at District Hospital here today.
As per police sources, a 14-year-old girl hailing from Fagula Ukhral, who complained of severe stomach pain, was rushed to the District Hospital here where she gave birth to the boy.
The parents of the girl lodged a complaint after the girl disclosed that she was being sexually assaulted by a 23-year-old man identified as Kuldeep Singh, son of Tirth Singh, a resident of village Faglu, Ukhral.
A case of rape was registered against the accused, who was arrested, but managed to escape from the police post Ukhral.
Two police officers on duty have been suspended and an inquiry has been initiated into the matter.
A hunt is on for the accused.
