RAJOURI, June 30: A six-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Budhal area of district Rajouri last evening.
The incident took place at Morha Kuchharh near Samote village of Budhal. The 17-year-old accused Rahim Khan (Name changed), who is said to be relative of the victim’s family, sexually assaulted the minor girl when she was alone at home. The accused was later captured by the locals and handed over to police.
A senior police officer said that a case FIR has been registered against the accused on the complaint of the parents of the victim and girl was sent for Medical examination and later handed over to the family.
SSP Rajouri, Chandan Kohli said a team from Police Station Budhal headed by SHO Som Raj succeeded in arrest of the accused during wee hours on Tuesday. He said accused (name withheld) has been detained by police under relevant sections of law keeping in view Juvenile Justice Act, further investigation in the case was in progress.
