KATHUA, Mar 6: In a rare incident of its kind, a 5-year-old girl was killed and her father seriously injured when a water tank exploded at a village in Billawar area today.
Reports reaching here said that this incident took place at village Tandi in tehsil Billawar at around 10 am, when both father and daughter had gone to fetch water from a tank at nearby Govt school. This cemented tank was fully covered from the top.
Suddenly, the water tank exploded with big bang. The bricks and other cemented material hit Radhey Sham, son of Beli Ram and his minor daughter Kamlesh. While the daughter was killed on the spot, injured Radhey Sham was shifted to Billawar hospital. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
