Minor boy among two killed in road accidents

JAMMU, Nov 12: A 13-year-old boy and a woman were killed today in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a woman namely Koushalya Devi (50) wife of Kunju Ram, resident of Moungri (Pancheri in Udhampur district), died in a hit and run case at Domail. He said the woman had come to Domail to meet somebody when while travelling on the road, she was hit by an unknown vehicle.
“In the mishap, woman received serious injuries. She was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 1 pm,” the official said, adding after postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while a case FIR No 148/2019 was registered in this connection at police station Jhajjar Kotli.
Meanwhile, a boy died after being hit by a speedy tipper near Miran Sahib in the outskirts of Jammu today. “Sumit Kumar (a class 7th student) son of Bihari Lal, resident of Tali Morh (Miran Sahib), was crossing the road outside his house when he was hit and killed on the spot by a speeding tipper bearing registration number PB11AS-8350,” the official said, adding that the erring driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized.
