JAMMU, May 29: Minister of Forests, Choudhary Lal Singh this evening visited JDA Housing Colony, Roop Nagar and its adjoining areas to see ground situation on complaints of unauthorized occupation of forest land and issued directions for demarcation of land to forest officials.
The Minister had reached Roop Nagar on the call of a deputation of JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association, Roop Nagar, Jammu, which apprised the minister that unauthorized occupation of forest land around JDA Housing Colony, Roop Nagar, by some undesirable elements has caused law and order problems.
After assessing the ground situation himself, the Minister issued the instructions to the forest officials accompanying him to provide him details of all such lands which have been in irregular possession so that suitable action by the department could be initiated and the area could be properly demarcated.
