Mini-bus rams into power transformer, one injured

JAMMU, June 15: A speeding mini-bus today rammed into a power transformer in Bohri area of city outskirts, dislocating it totally and injuring a pedestrian.
According to a police official, a rashly driven mini-bus today hit roadside electric poles in Anand Nagar area of Bohri and dislocated the power transformer installed on them. In the mishap, one pedestrian identified as Raju (26) son of Devi Dass also got minor injuries. He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
As a result of dislocation of power transformer and breakage of some poles, the power went off in whole area, triggering protest by the local people, who tried to block the road. They were demanding that the power be restored immediately.
Later, when the power was restored in the area after the intervention of the police officials, the inhabitants suspended their protest.
