Militants slip from cordon

SRINAGAR, May 14: Militants today slipped out of cordon after a brief shootout with security forces in Andwan Sagam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official said that acting on a tip off about the presence of two foreign Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants, security forces cordoned Andwan forest area in Sagam today. He said that there was a brief shootout between the militants and the security forces but the militants slipped out of the cordon. Click here to watch video
A militant hideout was busted in the forest in which these militants were hiding. The security forces recovered bedding, utensils and food items.
The operation to track the militants is on. However, no contact has been established with them after the first shootout.
