Srinagar, Dec 18: Police today arrested a militant associate of Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind outfit in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said that one militant associate of outfit Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind, Faisal Hussain Ganie resident of Tral, involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants as well as in transporting of arms and ammunition and explosive material of the militants in Tral and Awantipora areas, was arrested today.
“Incriminating material of outfit Ansar Gazwatul Hind has been recovered from the possession of the arrested person”, police said.
A case (FIR number 107/2020) has been registered against the militant associate in Police Station Tral under relevant sections of law.
In the meantime, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant who was injured in an encounter at South Kashmir’s Anantnag district yesterday and admitted to SMHS hospital, succumbed today.
Hizb militant Zaheer Abbas Lone, a resident of Pulwama sustained bullet injury in an encounter with security forces at Gund Baba area of South Kashmir yesterday. He was put on ventilator at SMHS hospital but breathed his last this afternoon.
