SRINAGAR: A local militant outfit Al-Umar has claimed responsibility for the Anantnag attack in which five CRPF personnel were martyred and a police officer was among three injured on Wednesday afternoon.
A caller who identified himself as spokesman of the outfit told local media that the militants of the outfit carried out the attack, which came four months after Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) fidayeen attack on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in February this year in which 44 CRPF personnel were killed and several others wounded.
He threatened more such attack in future. (AGENCIES)
