JAMMU: Security forces have busted a militant hideout and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition in the Ramban district.
“The troops of Delta Force based at Banihal along with Police, busted a militant hideout in the dense forests of Kumet area of Ramban district and recovered large quantity of arms, ammunition from there,” a defence spokesman said.
He said that based on specific information, the security forces launched a search on December 18 that continued till late afternoon today.
The arms and ammunition recovered from the hideout included one AK 47 rifle with three magazines, two Chinese made pistols with four magazines, 169 rounds of AK 47 rifle, 53 rounds of 7.62 sniper ammunition, one IED, 50 grams Plastic Explosive, wire fuse, one hand held radio set, one sickle, two blankets, one civil dress and cooking utensil.
