SRINAGAR: A militant hideout was today busted and a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives recovered by security forces in forest area of Baramulla district, a police official said.
Security forces launched a search operation in Drang forest area of Baramulla district, following information about presence of militant hideouts in the area, he said.
During search, the security forces recovered an AK rifle, a pistol and material used for making improvised explosive devices, the official said.
In another operation, police recovered a rusted hand grenade near a bridge in Kupwara district, the official said.
A bomb disposal squad was summoned which destroyed the grenade at an isolated place, he added. (AGENCIES)
