Migrants’ plea to PM, Sonia

JAMMU, Nov 26: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee, (JTC) Soan Kashmir Front and Minority Cell of PCC was held here today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita in which grave concern was expressed over the delaying tactics adopted by the Government in settling the long pending demands of the displaced Pandits.
As per a release the meeting made an appeal to Prime Minster, Dr Manmohan Singh, AICC president, Sonia Gandhi to impress upon the State Government to implement the decisions taken by UPA Government for welfare of Kashmiri migrants.
The meeting reiterated enhancement of cash relief demand, grant of scholarship to displaced KP students, restoration of water supply to Jagti camp and redressal of other problems of the inmates of the camp, improvement in the power supply at Jagti camp, grant of lump sum compensation of Rs 50 lakh to per migrant family, compensation of 24 years loss in shape of crops etc and implementation of PM’s employment package.
