JAMMU, Nov 12: Expressing grave concern over the plight of Kashmiri migrants, Lok Janshakti Party, candidate from Habba Kadal Constituency, and National President LJP Youth, Sanjay Saraf today alleged that the displaced people from Valley have been denied justice over the years.
Talking to reporters here he said Government has failed to redress their grievances which included honourable and dignified rehabilitation of the community, removal of encroachments from their land and religious places, proper supply of power and water in migrant camp at Jagti which is a grave human rights violation also.
Saraf said though his Party is part of NDA at Centre but in J&K LJP is contesting elections separately. He accused BJP of fielding a non migrant candidate from Habba Kadal Constituency and alleged that doubts still persist whether the said candidate has even joined the BJP or not as he remained close to all parties which suited his interests.
Making a scathing attack on BJP, Saraf accused it of sabotaging the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Bill and wanted to know will now BJP support its passage.
He, while opposing the boycott of elections, said that people in large numbers should participate in the poll process to strengthen democracy and Constitution of India.
He alleged that had BJP been serious enough in the mass participation of the Kashmiri migrants in poll process, the M-Forms would have been done away with and election procedure for migrants would have been simplified.
