JAMMU, Feb 10: Sunil Pandita social activist and president Jagti Welfare Movement has expressed concern over delay in releasing of monthly cash assistance to displaced people from Valley.
In a statement issued here, today Pandita said that 10 days of the month have elapsed and the authorities have failed to release the cash assistance to relief holders who are hard pressed as they have no other source of income except some meagre cash doles given by Government.
Pandita in an appeal to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner has urged him to look into the issue on humanitarian grounds and ensure that the cash assistance is released by the next week without any delay. He also demanded enhancement of cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month and settlement of other demands of migrants as well.
