JAMMU, Nov 17: The migrant teachers and migrant pensioners of Education Department have demanded immediate release of arrears of HRA and CCA in their favour.
In a meeting here, today the Ex Chairman of the Migrant Teachers Welfare Association A K Sadhu said that despite the clear cut orders by Government General Administrative Department (GAD) the Finance and Education Departments have failed to release the arrears in favour of the migrant teachers and pensioners w.e.f June 26, 1991.
Sadhu said that the issue has been taken up with Chairman of Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell with the plea that the migrant teachers and pensioners be given justice.
Sadhu also made an appeal to Finance Minister and Financial Advisor to Education Department requesting them that the arrears be released in favour of the migrant teachers and pensioners of Education Department at an earliest.
Addressing the meeting P L Koul Budgami a Trade Unionist said that the migrant employees of all other departments were paid the arrears except the Education Department and despite making pleas to concerned ministers and officers the arrears have not been released though as per the Administrative Department orders they were to be released by March 2017.
Raj Nath Raina another Trade Unionist said that Chief Accounts Officer Migrant Cell of the Education Department has till date failed to release the arrears for the reasons best known to him.
The others who addressed the meeting included B L Koul, Satesh Chakoo, Ramesh Kaloo, M L Daftri etc.
