SAMBA, June 1: The migrant labourers today staged a strong protest demonstration against the administration at Tapyal area of Ghagwal in district Samba.
A large number of male and female migrant labourers along with their children this morning gathered outside the Police Station, Ghagwal and raised slogans against the administration. They alleged that they are facing lot of trouble during lockdown, although the district administration set up migrant registration camps in different places of Samba and they had also submitted their documents in the camps for their deportation to their home states but the district administration has not take any steps to shift them to their homes.
The protesting labourers said they have been forced to stay here and they were facing lot of difficulties. Not only this, they are without work for last two months, due to which their children have also suffered. They appealed the administration to send them to their home states without any delay.
After receipt the information, Station House Officer, Ghagwal reached on spot and listened their grievances. He assured them that the district administration has already started the process of sending the migrants labourers to their states and they too will be sent on their turn. After the assurance of SHO, they dispersed peacefully.
