JAMMU, Aug 1: Taking serious note of reported statement of Education Minister Altaf Bukhari All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) held a massive demonstration here at Relief Organisation in protest against the same.
Hundreds of employees led by King C Bharati, senior Journalist and National Spokesperson APMCC gathered near RRC Office and submitted their joining report saying Government has failed to instill a sense of security among them and they need some time before resuming their duties in Valley.
The employees were agitated over the open threats issued by the Education Minister and derogatory languages being used against them by terming them truant and defaming them without giving out the real reason that Government has failed to address their issues.
Speaking on the occasion King C Bharati took serious note of insulting entire KP community by spreading falsehood and issuing open threats through media besides some of the officers using derogatory language against the migrant employees.
Bharati said that KPs would not take the continuous insults being hurled upon the community by the representatives of the Government lying down. The rehabilitation package was a complete failure and instead of relief package it has become a torture package as the Government has failed to address to the genuine problems. Seeking a clear blue print of the postings, security and accommodation facilities that the Minister has promised through media Bharati said that the employees who have not resumed their duties don’t feel a sense of security there adding when the Government was not able to secure its police, army officers, bank employees and Amarnath pilgrims how was Bukhari proposing to secure the employees who are soft targets now.
He said that while the Chief Minister had assured them that they won’t be forced to join before taking the employees representatives into confidence but issuing of open threats by the Education Minister is an indication that Kashmiri Pandits don’t figure in the scheme of things of BJP-PDP alliance Government.
He said employees were thinking of mass resignations in view of the indifferent attitude adopted by some officers and ministers of the Government.
Rejecting the statement of the Minister that Migrant employees want salary at home, he reminded him that these employees were discharging their services with sincerity in Valley for six years but the failure of the administration to protect them and their camps last year forced them to leave.
He clarified that employees were ready to resume duties but not without getting a blue print how Government was proposing to accommodate them adding for this the Ministry should talk to the representatives of the employees first.
Employees who addressed the gathering include RajanJi, VinodJi, Ajay Ji, Kamal Ji, Sarita, Manita, Sunil Ji, Sameer Ji, AnilJi besides King C Bharati.
