JAMMU, Apr 3: Migrant Cell Pradesh Congress held a meeting here, today in which people were asked to vote for Congress candidates in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting, which was chaired by Hira Lal Pandita senior Congress leader and chairman of the Cell has asked the party cadres to visit every migrant colony and launch a door to door campaign asking people to vote for PCC chief, G A Mir who is party candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency.
The meeting said Mir is a dynamic and a secular leader who has always raised the issues of the Kashmiri minorities in every fora and also advocated for their dignified return to Valley.
The meeting said strengthening the Congress and other secular forces is the need of the hour in the State of J&K and it appealed Kashmiri migrants to fill up their M Forms and ensure to participate in election process by casting their vote in favour of Congress candidates.
Later the Migrant Cell leaders also visited some areas of Jammu including Satwari, Digiana and Gangyal to canvass for party candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency, Raman Bhalla. While seeking vote for Bhalla, H L Pandita, Shadi Lal Pandita, Ghulam Qadir, Chuni Lal Kandi and Manohar Nath Pandita said the future of the people of the State is only safe in the hands of Congress party. They also highlighted the keen interest shown by Bhalla in implementation of PM package in the State and construction of quarters in Kashmir as well as at Jagti township when he was Revenue Minister.
