JAMMU, Nov 16: MIER College of Education (Autonomous), Jammu has achieved a unique distinction of being reaccredited with “A+” Grade and a CGPA of 3.64 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during its third cycle of assessment.
This makes the MIER College as the highest-ranking educational institution in the J&K State on the basis of assessment on quality parameters set by NAAC. The college also stands ranked at number 4 in the entire country amongst all teacher education institutions which have been accredited by NAAC according to their grade point scores respectively.
MIER College of Education had been accredited twice earlier by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade in the years 2006 and 2012 there by receiving ‘A Grade’ in its three consecutive accreditation cycles thereby achieving a ‘Hat Trick’.
The college shall now remain accredited for 7 years instead of 5 years as was earlier. To reassure its quality benchmark and its unique credentials, the institute volunteered itself for re-accreditation as per the new NAAC regulations. As a prerequisite for the Re-accreditation process, the Self Study Report (SSR) of the college was submitted to the NAAC and fulfillment of all recommendations made by the previous NAAC team were reported. The NAAC Peer team during their visit to the institution in September 2017; went around the college seeing the facilities, the teaching learning process in the classrooms and the documentary evidences. The team also met all stakeholders and interacted with them.
Informing about the development to students and the staff of the institution, Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions expressed elation and described the result as outcome of team work of the management, faculty, administrative staff and students in taking the college to greater heights.
