NEW DELHI, May 12: The Ministry of Human Resource Development on Saturday denied reports that it had not acted against the 80,000 bogus teachers who had been identified after introducing Aadhaar number verification on the Gurujan portal of AISHE.
In a clarification issued by the Ministry, it said that ”All the 80,000 names have been shared with both AICTE and UGC– the regulators, for taking up with the respective institutions and verify the reasons for incorrect entries.”
It said both the regulators were still on the job since the number of cases was ”very high”.
The ministry further clarified that in this case an opportunity was being given to the institutions to rectify mistakes, if any, in showing entries in Aadhaar numbers. A facility had been opened in the AISHE portal for making the corrections, the statement added. (UNI)
