MEU delegation meets JMC Commissioner

JAMMU, Feb 6: A delegation of Municipal Employees Union (Ministerial), Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today called on Commissioner, JMC, Kiran Wattal and submitted a memorandum comprising various demands of JMC employees.
The delegation of Municipal Employees Union (MEU), which was led by its president, Rohit George, stressed for re-organization of JMC in the light of the fact that the limits of the Corporation have been extended from 23 wards to 71 wards and there is surplus work load over the employees as the strength of the staff is decreasing day by day due to continuous retirements instead of new appointments.
The Union strongly pleaded that the strength of staff be raised by re-organization of the JMC by taking up the matter once again with the Government to resolve this issue at the earliest.
The members also urged the Commissioner to release pending arrears of 6th Pay Commission and adjust employees promoted in last DPC meeting according to their designation/post.
The issue of filling the vacant posts of Enforcement Inspectors by adjusting or promoting the trained officials was also raised by the delegation.
The Commissioner paid due attention to the demands of the Union and agreed to fulfill the genuine demands which are in his competence.
Jeewan Singh, Gopal Krishan, Sushil Singh, Ravinder Bhat, John Lawrance, Ramesh Kumar, Kamaldeep Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Sat Pal, Rakesh Kumar, Ashwani Sharma, Satish Kohli and others were part of the delegation.
