JAMMU, May 14: With rain and thunderstorm on May 16 and 17, some relief from the scorching hot weather conditions in Jammu region is expected for few days.
A MeT Department spokesman said that a spell of light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm is most likely to take place at many places across J&K, specially in plains of Jammu region during May 16 evening to May 18.
He said thunderstorm with strong gusty winds and hailstorm may occur on May 16 and 17 at some places in Jammu region. With this, a respite from scorching hot weather conditions will be witnessed in the region. Thereafter, there is no forecast of any major rainfall in the region in the coming few weeks but temperature will rise gradually from May 19 onwards, the spokesman added.
