NEW DELHI: The cold wave sweeping through Delhi intensified today with the mercury plummeting to the season’s lowest at 2.6 degree Celsius.
Dense fog in the morning affected schedules of flights and trains.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 2.6 degrees, five degrees below normal.
This is the lowest of this winter season. Earlier, a minimum of 4.2 degrees had been recorded on December 22. Meanwhile, dense fog led to the visibility levels in Delhi dropping to below 50 m at 0830 hrs.
The fog affected schedules of flights and trains as well as road traffic.
The intense cold wave is likely to persist with weathermen forecasting a maximum and minimum of 19 degrees and three degrees respectively tomorrow.
The capital has been experiencing a severe cold wave for the past one week.
