Mentha oil up in futures trade on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 30: Mentha oil edged up 0.11 per cent to Rs 834.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators built up positions, driven by an improvement in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December traded higher by 90 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 834.60 per kg in business turnover of 121 lots.
Similarly, oil for delivery in January inched up by 40 paise, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 847.60 per kg in 385 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions due to improvement in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against tight supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
