NEW DELHI, Dec 24: Mentha oil moved up by 0.41 per cent to Rs 827 per kg in futures market today after speculators built up positions triggered by rising demand from consuming industries in spot markets.
Further, tight stocks position following restricted arrivals from producing region supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December moved up by Rs 3.40, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 827 per kg in business turnover of 76 lots.
Similarly, oil for delivery in January traded higher by Rs 3, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 837.80 per kg in 54 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, helped mentha oil prices to rise at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
