NEW DELHI, Dec 31: Mentha oil prices weakened 0.08 per cent to Rs 823.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking at prevailing levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.
Adequate stocks in the physical market following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh further fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December weakened by 70 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 823.30 per kg in business turnover of 103 lots.
Similarly, the oil delivery in January traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.02 per cent, to Rs 835.60 per kg in 281 lots.
The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market. (PTI)
