Mentha oil futures up on spot demand, tight supply

NEW DELHI, Oct 1:  Mentha oil remained up for the second day and prices added 0.18 per cent to Rs 679.80 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, tight stocks position in the physical market due to restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October advanced by Rs 1.20, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 679.80 per kg in a business turnover of 224 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November edged higher by 70 paise, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 688.20 per kg in 48 lots.
Analysts said apart from rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, limited arrivals from producing regions kept mentha oil higher at futures trade. (PTI)
