NEW DELHI, July 23: Mentha oil prices fell by 0.87 per cent to Rs 706.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits after recent gains amidst low demand in spot markets.
Besides, higher supplies from producing regions in the physical market put pressure on mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July eased by Rs 6.20, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 706.20 per kg in a business turnover of 506 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in August lost Rs 5.60, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 720 per kg in 280 lots.
Analysts said the fall in mentha futures was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators after recent gains and sluggish demand from consuming industries in spot markets. (PTI)
