NEW DELHI, June 4: Extending gains for the second straight day, mentha oil prices were up by another 0.38 per cent to Rs 994.00 per kg in futures market today as participants started building up their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand from consuming industries.
Furthermore, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the uptrend.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July gained Rs 3.80, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 994.00 per kg in a business turnover of 257 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in June contracts traded higher by Rs 2.70, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 977.50 per kg in 559 lots.
Marketmen said tight supplies due to restricted arrivals from producing belts too kept mentha oil prices higher. (PTI)
