JAMMU, Mar 13: The Sarwal police reunited a mentally challenged lady with her family members, settled at Madurai.
Few months back, a unknown lady was found by SI In-charge Police Post Sarwal as a case of illness and neglect on road near Vikas Nagar. She was brought to Psychiatric Disease Hospital Jammu, by police In-charge Belt No: 1022 on 14/12/2019, with the history of delivering dead baby at SMGS Hospital Jammu on 13/12/2019.
As per the police, she was admitted in the hospital on the directions of Secretary District Legal Service Authority Jammu on December 13, 2019.
Principal GMC, Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina who came to know the incidence and directed the Medical Superintendent of Psychiatric Hospital, Dr Keerti Bhushan Sharma to take personal interest in the case and try to reunite the patient with her family.
In the hospital she was given due treatment and special care by the Consultants, Dr Manu Arora, Dr Rakesh Banal, Dr Abhishek Chouhan, Dr Rajinder Sharma, Dr Rameshwar Singh and other staff of the hospital.
After hectic efforts of Social Worker, Askhter-ul- Nissa started gathering information about her and succeeded in tracing out her address and found that she belong to Madurai District of Tamil Nadu. Thereafter her family was contacted for her identification and finally the reunification of the lady with her family achieved.
